Congratulations! Timesteps would like to congratulate Rachael Garvey, Franchesca Hardill and Bradley Walmsley on their successful auditions for the English Youth Ballet. Our pupils will perform with the company in their production of The Nutcracker at The Victoria Theatre, Halifax in July. Well done!
Timesteps teamed up with Agent Models to perform at the Leeds heat of Miss England. The Miss Leeds Contest was held at The Carriageworks, Millienium Square and was hosted by Dixie from Real Radio. Timestep's professsional dance act - All That Jazz - entertained the audience at the event. Judges included the current Miss England, Agent Models representatives and Ship Wrecked contestant, Marvin. Miss Leeds will now represent our region at Miss England, the successful model will then attend Miss World.
Congratulations!Gabrielle Cooke has successfully audition for Wakefield Royal's production of Footloose. The standard of auditionees was extremely high but Gabrielle wowed the production team with her dance and vocal talent. Footloose takes place at the theatre in September . Congratulations! Rachael Garvey has been given the opportunity to audition with the Yorkshire Young Dancers, Rachael attended a workshop with YYD, she was then offered an audition. Good luck Rachael!
Timesteps have been able to arrange a workshop with West End Performer - Steven Houghton. Steven initially began training from the age of eight at the Betty Chappelle School of Theatre Dance in Penistone and later at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds.Steven is regularly asked to lecture throughout the UK, and has built up a reputation for teaching an exciting, inspirational & dynamic class for anyone who is as passionate about performing as he is.Steven is currently staring in the UK national tour of 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' as the lead role of Adam Pontipee.
I am pleased to announce that Timesteps will be offering the chance for Spen Valley High pupils to learn how to lock, pop and break at Timestep's Dance Club which will be held at Spen Valley High. Pupils will be taught by one of Timestep's resident Breakdance teachers.
Mid Associate Auditions - Bethany Hodgson and Rebecca Manning are now awaiting news from their Royal Ballet Audition to become a Mid Associate.
Junior Associate Auditions - Many of Timestep's younger ballet pupils are being entered for the Junior Associate Auditions. Good Luck to all!
Bradley Walmsley, who successfully became a Junior Associate last year, has been asked by The Royal Ballet School to attend Covent Garden. Bradley's progress will be assessed whilst attending.
Junior Associate, Summer School and Yorkshire Young Dancers Auditions - Timestep's are pleased that so many of their pupils are being entered for the above auditions. Timestep Teachers are extremely proud of those pupils who are showing such dedication and determination. Well done!
